stamps: My Favorite Things Sketch Flowers, Sunny Studio Holiday Style  dies: My Favorite Things Sketch Flowers, Sunny Studio Holiday Style, Papertrey Ink Brushed Off Rectangle  other: Acrylic Paint/Glitter Paint

This time, we are supposed to CASE one of our favorite cards this year or another designer.

I cased my card from a recent post.

My reasons were practical...I had painted backdrops already done and I wanted to create a non-seasonal card. ;)

Merry Dressed Up in Bling

There I was, minding my own business.

I was trying to focus.

I was shopping for grocery essentials and staying away from the pesky, fun, crafty aisles that send my mind into neverland.

I was focusing on snacks, produce, canned goods...

and what does Walmart do?

She puts paint...delicious, glittery paint...

on an end-cap by the cereal aisle.

sigh.

Bottles of glitter fell into my cart because, well,

my defenses were down and I couldn't resist!

Marlenaisfaithfullycrafting took over.

My mental list of meals went wooosh and

 I. was. done.

How's about the cashier cheered me on with

"ooooh, I can't wait to try those."

really?

It was too much.

What's a crafty girl to do with all that temptation.

I went home,

threw the groceries in the fridge and ran downstairs to craft. ;)

I painted backdrops and tips of word diecuts...starting with the following:

hosted by Melissa

dies: Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Holiday/Spruce & Sprigs

(bling)

The more shine = more bling....am I right? ;)

I added sequins to the sprig and sealed them with Faber-Castell Texture Gem medium.

The hardest part was waiting for it to dry.

That's when I took a break to cook.

Might as well finish what I started. ;)

Thanks for stopping by and listening to my ramblings!

Merry Ornament Card

I have a lot of die cuts stacked on my desk~so I used some of them for this ornament card~

I anchored down the ornament with a strip of red, and underneath I left a shadow of the ornament, so to speak~

I hope to get another card done for the following, and maybe it will be a single layer!

The following photo at Laurel's had me at red, white, and a scalloped focal center~

Transformation Tuesday Ornaments

Papertrey Ink's Transformation Tuesday is a great opportunity to take one of your earlier designs and redo or repurpose them.

Last week's Tranformation Tuesday hosted by
Lexi Daly
inspired me to take a card design and turn it into ornaments.

stamps: Papertrey Ink (retired) Make It Market Kit Tinsel & Tags/What the Doodle Snowflakes sentiment/Vintage Ornaments II sentiment      dies: Papertrey Ink (retired) Make It Market Kit Tinsel & Tags

Here's my original black and white card from last year, which uses the same kit.

https://marlenaisfaithfullycrafting.blogspot.com/2017/08/saf-2017take-ten-warm-up-challenge.html

I'm linking my project to this week's

hosted by  Lizzie Jones,

in which she takes a card and changes the season.

You can transform a previous project anyway you like.

I think it's fun to revisit my older projects...I've had my blog since 2011.

If I go "bleh" when I see some of my older stuff, this is a great opportunity to redo.

If I like a project I've designed, I just revamp it with trendy colors or better skills.

ahem. ;)

Since I plan on gifting these (and more which I will share if I get around to it), I'm also sharing this at

Simon Says (Monday): Gift It

These should last a few years...they are chipboard ornaments.

Here is the link to a tutorial which I've drawn from many times.

The winter scenes are appropriate for this challenge too:

Papertrey Ink November 2018 Blog Hop Challenge

stamps: Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Snowflakes  dies: Papertrey Ink What the Doodle Snowflakes/Brushed Off Rectangle/Wonderful Words Joy

Check out Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop Challenge this month:

https://blog.papertreyink.com/2018/11/november-2018-blog-hop/

I went red, white and blue like the photo~keeping it as simple as possible.

I did a partial red with the Brushed Off Rectangle...and did a second layer in white.

It's a subtle frame, but effective in bringing the focus to the center sentiment.

Plus, it gives me an anchor to arrange the snowflakes on~

Thanks for stopping by!

Winter Snow Oranges

When I created this card...I had in mind the days of old where an orange was an extravagant Christmas gift.
I love the fresh look of the citrus images in Altenew's Main Squeeze set...so I built everything up from them.

stamps: Altenew Main Squeeze  dies: Altenew Main Squeeze, Simon Says Stamp Winter Snow Wafer, Technique Tuesday Sparkle & Shine Snowflakes  other: Nuvo Drops

I sponged the slices with Tim Holtz  Frayed Burlap for a dried look~you wouldn't hang a fresh slice on a tree, right?

Orange is making a dent in Christmas decor these days...and I'm totally on board with that!

I could stamp citrus for dayzzzz.  :)

I'm submitting this to Simon Says (Monday): Let it Snow

Merry & Bright

Whenever I stamp Altenew's Main Squeeze,

I crave grapefruits or oranges.

I'm not even kidding. ;)

It literally helps me eat healthier.

 stamps: Altenew Main Squeeze/Halftone Circles/Bells & Bows  dies: Altenew Main Squeeze/Bells & Bows/Merry Christmas

Traditional Christmas colors in this inspiration helped me along...

https://altenewblog.com/2018/11/03/november-2018-inspiration-challenge/

I love when citrus images debut in holiday decor!

I also used the sketch from

(pretend the larger citrus images are one and bring the horizontal strip to the front).

I Am the Clay

I absolutely love Pink & Main's Pumpkin Spice paper.

stamps: Santoro Frames, Verve Potter's Clay  dies: My Favorite Things Cross Stitched Ovals, Papertrey Ink Snowman

I saw these colors and was like yesssssss...we can do this with this paper. ;)

https://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/2018/11/color-throwdown-518.html

What's nice about coloring, is you can make it anything you want!

It sets the center piece for a card, you know?

Thank you for stopping by!

Soy Awesome Pom

This time I let a pom take center stage~

stamps: My Favorite Things Sushi Date sentiment  die: My Favorite Things Stitched Oval Word Window  other: corrugator, yarn for pom, Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise & Fresh Lime

My sweet teammate Sandie
nudged me to make a card for the following challenge~ she knows how much I love making poms. ;)

http://theseinspiredchallenges.blogspot.com/2018/11/inspired-by-pom-pom-delight.html

I focused on blues and greens...corrugating a panel and spritzing with Dylusions sprays.

Today is a wonderful day to craft and rest and rest and craft...

Have a good one friends!
