Masculine Bike & Washi

I knocked out a masculine card, much to my surprise.

When we tinker, it happens...you know how it goes.

(stamps:Sizzix Framelits Hero Arts Bike, Waltzingmouse (no longer in business) sentiment  dies:My Favorite Things Die-namics Horizontal Stitched Strips,Sizzix/Hero Arts Bike  other:washi)

 I started with this sketch:

I lay down some washi and die cut with a Horizontal Strip, then cut a second strip.

The bike is in place of the circle.

Before I knew it, I had a masculine card for a young man who is moving soon.

Yay me!

Rainbow Paperclip Ribbons

So, paperclip ribbons...

I think they'd be fun to gift.

I went with a rainbow theme~

(die:Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Banner Duo,Spellbinders Deckled Rectangle  stamp:Inkadinkado Friendly Advice  other:washi, sticker pocket, paperclips, ribbon)

I created this card with paperclip goodies for the

http://prettypinkposh.com/2016/06/rainbow-challenge.html

Yana's fun rainbow stripes and clear window inspired my design.

The rainbow banner was designed with washi stuck to cardstock/die cut with the banner in the Pretty Pink Posh Banner Duo set.

As for the holder of the paperclip ribbons,

I found these useful sticker pockets while waltzing into Target...

race you to the store to get more!!! :)

I could see these holding gift cards or incorporated in a shaker card.

Whatever makes my creating faster...I'm all for it!

Thanks for stopping by friends~

Create Along With Us June 2016

(stamp:Papertrey Ink Meadow Greens  die:Papertrey Ink Counting My Blessings)

Today's card was inspired by Amy Sheffer's lovely creation:

http://pickledpaperdesigns.blogspot.com/2016/06/forget-me-not-notes.html

I love the combo of colors she selected!

I lay black and white striped washi on vellum and Berry Sorbet cardstock and cut two sentiments out with the same die.

After stamping and layering my panels, I wanted to add a bit of ribbon.

I created a paperclip bow to clip on the top panel.

This is my new go-to embellishment!

If you google, you'll find a multitude of looks you can accomplish with paperclips and ribbon.

Bows and I aren't the closest of friends~so I LOVE this technique of ribbon treatment.

Thanks for stopping by during your busy summer~

Rainbow Stripes & Confetti

I picked up some washi yesterday and now I've got most of the colors for a rainbow.

(stamp:Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Grunge Elements  die:Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Banner Duo  other:Confetti, washi)

I simply lay the colors down and cut out sections with the Stitched Banner Duo Square.

I was inspired by the challenge here:

http://prettypinkposh.com/2016/06/rainbow-challenge.html

I went with Shannon's fun card...where she reinforced her rainbow with sequins.

I added my confetti to its matching color for a 3D effect.

Missed Another Birthday

Man, I am always missing my niece's birthday!

It falls within my busiest time of the year~wrapping up school.

I whipped up a card fairly fast...

(stamps:Verve Borderline sentiment,Papertrey Ink City Scene street  dies:Papertrey Ink Bubble Talk other:Sesame Street stickers)

The inspiration photo at

steered me toward multiple windows~which inspired me to use this sticker set my sister passed on to me.

GORJUSS Stamps and Purple Hair

Guys.....

I am SMITTEN with a line that I stumbled upon recently.

First of all, here's what I made.

(stamps:DoCrafts Gorjuss The White Rabbit,WORD sentiment  dies:Simon Says Stamp Greeting Blocks,My Favorite Things Cross-Stitch Oval,Newton's Nook Darling Hearts  other:striped washi)

Sorry 'bout your eyes...

I should have warned you that brightness was happenin'!

You may not be able to see the purples I added to her hair.

You know how sometimes fiction can't quite grasp real life?

Well, in this case, it's true.  This character's hair is a little more mild than my daughter's hair~which I colored recently.

Gurlfriend is BRAVE to let momma color it, but just so you know, we were going for solid, not tie-dye.

That's what happens when you're tired and don't know what you're doing~annnnd adding bobby pins in the process gives off this look too.

Fortunately for me, she LOVES my mistake and has gotten so many compliments...esp coming from a little 4 year old that shyly told her she looked like Ariel.

Oh. my. word.

She said it was WORTH this fun color with that type of sweetness.

Anyway, I went a little more discreet with my stamped girlie.

Can I just brag a little on the packaging with these Gorjuss products?

I've never seen anything like it!!!!

sigh.

I am entering this in Simon Says (Monday):World Traveler.

This particular stamp I used is called The White Rabbit~I'm thinking it's loosely based on Alice in Wonderland (which is why I picked this stamp up).

I loosely interpreted this challenge as "another" world travel~by adding my own "it's time" sentiment which I typed on my computer and die cut.

I pictured all the travels and unusual colors that Alice (which I LOVE in BRUNETTE style) encounters.

Thanks for taking the time to travel to my corner of the web~

Ripped Washi Cards

I used my technique again, masking with ripped washi, and created two cards.

Here's the first:

(stamps:My Favorite Things Bokeh Builder /Flowers Set 4  die:My Favorite Things Wonky Stitches Circle)

I used these summer colors~

http://www.cardchallenges.com/2016/06/mft-color-challenge-47.html

Here's the second:

(stamps:Papertrey Ink Wreath for All Seasons,Hero Arts Joy to the World sentiment  die:Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Elle-ments)

I used the same colors and incorporated
 this sketch:

http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2016/06/case-this-sketch-176.html

I created these yesterday, but didn't squeeze enough time in to actually post them.

BUSY BUSY BUSY...why does it seem that summer is busier than school at the moment?

SHINY & Simple

I may never put away my shiny and glitter washi again after making this card.

In fact, after combining my washi/die cut technique with the technique in

hosted by Danielle...

I can create multiple cards with one brilliant die cut, shadowed by a glitter marker.

(die:Papertrey Ink Sparkle & Shine Words  other:confetti, glitter & shiny washi)

I added a few confetti stars to frame the sentiment.

My girlies are going to nationals with their large dance group~I may actually get a card done for each of them with this simple design!

Thanks for visiting me today~

Wedding or Anniversary Card

I created a love card today for a wedding or anniversary~

(stamps: Altenew Mini Blossoms  dies:Newton's Nook Darling Hearts,Spellbinders Labels 18  other:glitter washi, silver washi)

I based it on Altenew's June Inspiration Challenge~check out this gorgeous photo.

http://altenewblog.com/2016/06/01/june-inspiration-challenge/

I stamped the solid layers of the Mini Blossoms in yellow and greens~
love this color combo!

I incorporated sequins and silver tipped diecuts to add a "special occasion" detail to my card.

Here's a closeup of my glitter-tipped sentiment.

I lined glitter tape next to silver tape and when I die cut it, it left just a smidge of the glitter.

Vellum and I aren't usually the best of friends, but my washi-dipping technique weighs it down and adds grounding for the sentiment diecut.

I am also submitting this to Simon Says (Monday):Summer Garden

Thank you for stopping by to say hi!

Gold Within the Rainbow

I don't often have a clear vision of how I want a card to go.

That's the fun of creating~there's magic in the process itself.

This card, however, was one in which I had specific details I wanted to master.

First of all, gold "dipping" with washi on a trendy rainbow and a sentiment to match.

(dies:Papertrey Ink SAF 2014-1980's Kit  other:Scotch Glitter Tape,silver washi,confetti)

To achieve my dipped rainbow, I slapped down a strip of glitter tape on two colors I wanted to work with.

I die cut my rainbow and pieced together the opposing colors.

I purposely staggered the bows so that the edges had interest against the silver clouds (achieved with two rows of silver washi die cut).

Since I didn't have a sentiment to match, I typed my own on Word.

(glitter tape & shiny confetti)

Female Nautical Inspiration

I hope my words work today, there's so much reflecting I want to share and practical card information, too.

First of all, card info...

(stamp:Verve Adjusted Sails Plain Jane,BoBunny Barefoot & Bliss  dies:Verve Nautical Die Set,Spellbinders Classic Circles/Scalloped Circles  other:washi tape for anchor and masking)

Here's the modern nautical photo that had me *sail* in this direction. :)

http://curtaincallchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/curtain-call-inspiration-challenge-sail.html

LOVE LOVE LOVE the modern pillows that drew me in and had me grab for some stripey, bold washi.

I matched these together for my own "pattern" on white cardstock and cut out a trendish anchor.

As for the technique used...masking baby, and lots of it.

Wave upon wave (masked with fussy cut post-it note waves) from this oldie but goodie BoBunny set I've had since starting my blog.

The second masking was done with sponging between torn washi (technique I explained here) in a vellum circle frame.

While creating with this inspiring sentiment from Verve,

I reflected on HOW STRONG AND RESILIENT we ladies have to be.

Women tend to be the heartbeat of a home~

doing their best to hone a pretty, pleasant and comfortable environment...no matter the storm rolling.

When things don't work out...we buck up, find another way to do what we can for who we can.

YAY for women!

God bless you as you push through, you beautiful, strong you!

Thanks for stopping by~
