Go OuT & gLoW gIrL!

I'm standing near a runway, friends, where it's time to accept reality.

God let me "borrow" an amazing person for a short while (to protect and guide)...but now I must release her to fly.

This is for my oldest girlie...who's grown in leaps and bounds out of her comfort zone...

You GO out there AND GLOW girlie...

~ROCK THAT WORLD~

and do what you do. ;)

I'm so grateful for ordinary days.

When my husband retired from the Army 5 years ago...I rejoiced in the fact that we could finally have the "average".

The melody of his tires coming up the driveway...even the rhythm of the trashcan being dragged down the road (by him, not me) is SWEET and oh so PRECIOUS.

"Hey hon, can you get this BIG BUG for me???" I squeal...batting my eyelashes.

He rolls his eyes, because he knows that I can handle these "muscle man" jobs...but to have him around to do them...

IT'S SO SPECIAL!

sigh.

He's my prince. ;)

"YOU'RE MY HERO!!!" I yell after he's rescued me from these killer insects.

He may not be saving the world at the moment, like so many dedicated soldiers,

but HE IS at home saving mine.

I APPRECIATE and RECOGNIZE the sacrifices of so many military, missionary, and "out of the ordinary" families that crave...

and HOLD OUT for the days when their lives will be ordinary and average.

We lived that roller coaster lifestyle for quite awhile.

There are so many who won't have ordinary again~because of the death of their loved one.

Treasure the ordinary and average.

For some...

those days are novel and extraordinary~

Piecing it Together

by Melissa is a beautiful way to create a sympathy card.

When my father-in-law died three years ago...it was so disorienting and painful.

However, God was merciful and showed bits of beauty despite the excruciating absence of our loved one here on earth.

The comfort I can express to another going through this...is that we are sending prayers~

The beauty, is that the loved one will never be forgotten~the outline is still there in memories, hearts and minds.

BEAUTIFUL you

My oldest placed some clothing tags on my craft desk...and a decorated tag was born today for a beautiful friend~

I was inspired by the

I tied the tag to a plain brown gift bag~DONE!

Here is a card  I am including with the gift.

I brought out my Verve pennant trim and striped washi for the

~Use stars and/or stripes~honoring Amber's military service and Laurie's use of stripes~

I saw Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet ink on that wall, so I sponged it on the Fancy Pants DP (complete with sentiment) that was originally cream.

The washi mimics the striped pillow.

I am overwhelmed by news of the devastation in OK, as I'm sure many are.

I hear the reports coming in...and it breaks my heart-

there are no words.

May God bring comfort, peace and grace to this painful, painful process of moving forward.

May those affected feel His presence in a mighty way.

~I've Got My Eye On It~

Since I used a woodblock stamp (where I can't see through)...this was a happy accident~

I mean...how perfectly placed are those dots?????

Once in a lifetime, I tell ya! ;)

My NEW favorite ink is Papertrey Ink's Enchanted Evening.

It's like the color of dark denim.

I don't know about you...but May/June is BUSY BUSY when you have kids, right?

Super fun, but the world seems to spin faster and faster.

What a blessing to get some stampy time in!!!!

Take care and God bless~

Let the Paper Do All the Work

When you've got whimsical, cool birds....you don't need much~

I used small sections of paper for

made me think of these sassy birds.

I HAVEN'T thrown a towel over peed sheets, but I HAVE wiped baby spit up off my neck with a wipe and gone back to sleep.

Those were moments when sleep was a hot commodity~and I'd do whatever it took to get it!

Speaking of which...I should go and enjoy sleep while I can~take care now.

SO PRECIOUS

Once again, I pulled some scraps together~

I only had to die cut the oval~then I layered it over the cut circle.

I believe Authentique Genuine was my first-ever favorite paper pack.

I used a bird from the Melody Ross Soul Food Collection.

Hope you are having some time to squeeze the crafting in~you might stumble into it, like I did...while cleaning your desk. ;) LOL

It's Your Birthday and Cool Sized Paper

I love the 6 X 12 " paper I found at Michaels.

The edges alone make a quick card even easier~

My card looks bluer in person...really!

I was inspired by the

The skies are cloudy...hence the darkened picture.

I'll take the warmth, though!

Thanks for stopping in friends~

Scripture Bouquet

I've created a Scripture Bouquet using a fun file in the Silhouette Cameo store.

I simply removed the coupon text, and stamped each pot with a verse.

I scored the last pot to allow it to brace the gift.

S-Scripture
P-Paper
R-red ink
G-Garden Flowers

The free verse this week is Proverbs 31:10.

This gift will be given to my friend who creates beautiful bouquets.

She is truly a virtuous woman who lays her life down for Christ in a mighty way.

Her sacrificial care, right now, of an elderly grandmother is amazing to me.

It is the ultimate show of Jesus' love.

I am also submitting this to the Gift Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Have a blessed day, friends!

Something Special Recycled Tag

I scored awesome clothing tags from recent purchases.

I love the whittle pink spiders on this one.

I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts So Kind and added hot pink die cuts to frame the focal point.

The following three challenges motivated me:

Check out the beautiful FREE verse there!

Fantastic CAS sketch at:

I love the divided frames in this photo~it had me reach for the quilt die and pink colors for my card.

Splash Challenge with a Balloon and Sequins

Give me a splash challenge and I'm IN!!!

~I love any splash of color with B&W~

As I've mentioned once...I have zero desire to ride a balloon~but I think it's FABULOUS that I have friends who have experienced it. ;)

Kudos to their bravery!

Thank You for Loving Me

Hello friends~it's been awhile since I last posted.

I was blessed to have my parents visit~it was a blast!

It was also really busy....but FUN busy.

I created this card to share how loved I feel right now...

CASE Study Challenge #139
Maile Belles

~I have a focal flower and sentiment to mimic Maile's gorgeous design
(which you can see at CASE Study)~

It is warm enough to play outside~YAYYYYY, it's about time!!!

I'll take it...bugs,pollen and all!

Should I start complaining about bugs and heat, y'all remind me of the cold, blustery winter we had.

That ought to snap me back to gratefulness. ;)
